Our Partners

Our Partners

Our partners play a key role in bringing communities online. They represent their own local commuities and understand how the community "tools" can be used to best effect in their own area.

To date, our focus has been on Northland. However, we are already establishing partnerships for the Hutt Valley and Kapiti Coast communities, as well for Franklin, South Waikato, Ruapehu and Gisborne.

Northland
The Northland dotco portal acts as an 'umbrella site' for all of the community websites in Northland. Originally set up in partnership with the Northland Grow organisation.

Kauri Coast
Allan and Pat Mortensen of the Kauri Coast Promotion Society originally set up the Kauri Coast web site, which is now being managed by the Dargaville Information Centre. It also includes the Dargaville community website.

Kerikeri
Sue McLeod of the Kerikeri Business Association originally set up the Kerikeri town web site. Sue is also responsibile for www.breast.co.nz - an information and support web site for women with breast cancer. The Kerikeri website is currently managed by Peter and Julie Webster. Peter is also active in the Kerikeri Business Association.

Paihia
Peter Webster also worked together with Margaret Rasmussen of the Business Association to set up the Paihia town web site. Both Kerikeri and Paihia are the most active of the community websites to date.

Mangawhai
One of our most recent community websites, Mangawhai was set up by Alison Cox of the Focus Mangawhai organisation. Major innovations were the development of an interactive Holiday Planner and also a community Marketplace.

Paparoa
This is our newest website. Nik Hendriksen is working on collecting the final copy and pictures before Paparoa is ready to go live.

Hokianga
Louis Toorenburg is responsible for the Hokianga web site. Louis owns the Labyrinth Woodworks in Hokianga.

Kaikohe
The Kaikohe Business Association is responsible for managing the Kaikohe web site.

Whangaroa
The Whangaroa site was originally designed by Pat Howitt working together with Sue McLeod from Kerikeri. It has since received a major facelift and is now being kept up-to-date by Chris Kira and Rex and Olwyn Snell as part of the Kaeo business community.

Whangarei
NZCDT has set up and maintains the Whangarei community website until we find an organisation who is able to provide this service for the wider Whangarei community.

Ngati Kahu
Margaret Mutu, secretary of the Ngati Kahu rununga, is responsible for the Ngati Kahu web site. This site will be used to keep members of Ngati Kahu up-to-date with local developments, as well as being able to contribute to discussion through an online forum.

Opotiki
Sharlene Koopu of the Whakaatu Whanaunga Trust has set up and manages the Opotiki community website

Auckland Region
NZCDT has set up and maintains the Auckland Region community website as there is currently no regional organisation available to manage the site on behalf of the entire region.

Manukau District
NZCDT has set up and maintains the Manukau District community website, working in consultation with the Manukau City council and Enterprising Manukau.
